A green-toned panel shows a child (seen from behind, only the back of a blond head visible at lower left) telling their mother, 'Mom! Bobby at school said I'm ugly.' The mother, a brown-haired woman in a pink shirt, leans toward the child with a warm, comforting smile and reaches out a hand, replying, 'Aww... my poor little guy!' Below the panel a caption reads: '"I mean girl! Girl! ...Right?"' The joke is that the mother accidentally gendered her child and is now anxiously unsure she guessed correctly. Votey (a small black-and-white follow-up panel): the woman leans in with the same sympathetic smile and, hedging entirely, says, 'My poor little ...child.'
