Paradox

A stark black-and-white silhouette comic in a single panel. A younger man lunges with a raised knife at an older man, who throws up an arm to defend himself. The attacker shouts, "DIE! DIE OLD MAN!" The old man cries, "WHY?!" The attacker answers, "THE ARROW OF TIME POINTS IN ONLY ONE DIRECTION!" A caption beneath reads: "Physics Fun Fact! You can't go back in time to kill your own grandfather, but you CAN do it forward in time." The joke flips the classic grandfather time-travel paradox: rather than traveling back, you simply kill your grandfather while moving forward through time normally. In the votey (aftercomic), the attacker reassures the cowering old man: "THE GOOD NEWS IS THIS WILL NOT RESULT IN ANY CAUSAL PARADOX!"
